Does Dragons exist

One of the most common, and certainly the most debatable question in circulation over dragons is, "do they exist?” Despite being repeatedly asked, a satisfactory conclusion has never really been offered. The reason is primarily because everyone has a different viewpoint on dragon existence, and due to the controversial nature of the topic, we have so far only really been faced with contradiction.

To date, theories regarding dragon existence have ranged from a physical, literal presence; the idea that dragons used to roam the earth but were wiped out by chivalrous knights or human advances.

Others believe that dragons are little more than a mixture of the untamed forces of nature and human imagination, or that dragons exist on the astral plane, or that they have found their home in our imaginations.

The Mysterious mermaid

Mermaids are mythical creatures cited in various literary works and folklores. They are typically, described as the living beings with the upper torso of a woman and lower torso of a fish.

These creatures have been allegedly sighted by many sailors and fishermen in different parts of the world. Like unicorns and centaurs, even mermaids have become an integral part of mythology and folklore in several cultures, across the world.

Determining, whether mermaids are real, may seem to be a tedious task if we blindly go along with the masses. Few sightings of mermaids make us believe that they are true creatures that exist.

Jack the Ripper

"Jack the Ripper" is the best-known name given to an unidentified serial killer who was active in the largely impoverished areas in and around the Whitechapel district of London in 1888. The name originated in a letter, written by someone claiming to be the murderer, that was disseminated in the media. The letter is widely believed to have been a hoax, and may have been written by a journalist in a deliberate attempt to heighten interest in the story. Other nicknames used for the killer at the time were "The Whitechapel Murderer" and "Leather Apron".

Attacks ascribed to the Ripper typically involved female prostitutes from the slums whose throats were cut prior to abdominal mutilations. The removal of internal organs from at least three of the victims led to proposals that their killer possessed anatomical or surgical knowledge. Rumors that the murders were connected intensified in September and October 1888, and letters from a writer or writers purporting to be the murderer were received by media outlets and Scotland Yard. The "From Hell" letter, received by George Lusk of the Whitechapel Vigilance Committee, included half of a preserved human kidney, supposedly from one of the victims. Mainly because of the extraordinarily brutal character of the murders, and because of media treatment of the events, the public came increasingly to believe in a single serial killer known as "Jack the Ripper".

Extensive newspaper coverage bestowed widespread and enduring international notoriety on the Ripper. An investigation into a series of brutal killings in Whitechapel up to 1891 was unable to connect all the killings conclusively to the murders of 1888, but the legend of Jack the Ripper solidified. As the murders were never solved, the legends surrounding them became a combination of genuine historical research, folklore, and pseudohistory. The term "ripperology" was coined to describe the study and analysis of the Ripper cases. There are now over one hundred theories about the Ripper's identity, and the murders have inspired multiple works of fiction.

A rain of Insects

Mr. John Zeleny witnessed a peculiar, unexplained event in 1897. In a letter printed in a 1932 edition of Science magazine, Zeleny described a luminous, cumulus-type cloud that drifted over Hutchinson, Minnesota from the east.

"It shone with a uniform, steady, vivid, whitish light and passed directly over the town," Zeleny wrote. "When the cloud was overhead, a great shower of insects descended to earth covering the ground all around to the number of about 50 to 100 per square foot.

" Upon examination, the insects proved to be a common type of bug of the species hemiptera. Zeleny also reported a second event that took place that same year but in Macerata, Italy. This time, out of blood-red clouds precipitated thousands of seeds unfamiliar to locals.

The Mysterious Ouija Boards

A Ouija board from French "oui" and German "ja" also known as a spirit board or talking board, is a flat board marked with letters, numbers, and other symbols, supposedly used to communicate with spirits. It uses a planchette or movable indicator to indicate the spirit's message by spelling it out on the board during a séance.

The fingers of the séance participants are placed on the planchette, which then moves about the board to spell out messages.Ouija is a trademark for a talking board currently sold by Parker Brothers. It has become a trademark that is often used generically to refer to any talking board. Following its commercial introduction by businessman Elijah Bond in the late 1890s, the Ouija board was regarded as a harmless parlor game unrelated to the occult until American Spiritualist Pearl Curran popularized its use as a divining tool during World War I.

Mainstream Christian religions and some occultists have associated use of the Ouija board with the threat of demonic possession, and some have cautioned their followers not to use Ouija boards. While Ouija believers feel the paranormal or supernatural is responsible for Ouija's action, it may be more parsimoniously explained by unconscious movements of those controlling the pointer, a psychological phenomenon known as the ideomotor effect. Despite being debunked by the efforts of the scientific community, Ouija remains popular among many young people.

Spiritual Healing

Can anyone receive a healing energy, can this be trained? What is the source for spiritual healing, a universal force or spirit? Is the power of the mind related to spiritual healing in some way?

Throughout the world, if one explores each religion or spiritual philosophy, we will find evidence of special or gifted individuals who can perform what appear to be miraculous cures of people with all kind of health challenges, including life threatening illnesses.

How is this possible? People who have been documented to have such abilities, in some cases have been tested by scientists using a variety of devices. And it has been shown through these tests that somehow the energy contained within the healers body is elevated to a great degree at precisely the time they begin to focus on giving a healing energy. Also there are some special parts of the world where the force of the earth is very powerful and we find individuals who are able to perform surgery without the aid of any medical tools whatsoever.

The Crystal Skulls

The Crystal Skulls are considered to be one of the most intriguing mysteries in our world. Human size skulls made from a variety of quartz crystals have been found near or within ancient ruins for over the last 100 years. No one is quite sure how the crystal skulls found their way to these sites and who made them, as some of the older skulls show some precise workmanship. The local people believe these skulls have an energy or power.

There are numerous reports of people being cured of all types of illnesses and life threatening diseases. Many people report that there lives change in a dramatic way after being in the presence of a crystal skull. The indigenous elders the crystal skulls are connected to their prophecy of a transformation for our world and that they contain incredible universal knowledge.

It is the goal of the World Mystery Research Center to work with all types of scientific devices and systems to determine if we can explain why the crystal skulls affect people so powerfully. Why are the crystal skulls also discussed in the controversial bible code? Do they have some connection with ETs and the UFOs? In this section we will continue to offer to our readers a glimpse of the actual research that is going on behind the scenes.

The Occult symbols

Occult symbols are fast replacing Christian symbols in culture. Encourage you to use this list to warn others, especially children who intentionally wear and display them because they are popular.

The word occult comes from the Latin word occultus (clandestine, hidden, secret), referring to "knowledge of the hidden". In the medical sense it is used to refer to a structure or process that is hidden, e.g. an "occult bleed" may be one detected indirectly by the presence of otherwise unexplained anaemia.

The word has many uses in the English language, popularly meaning "knowledge of the paranormal", as opposed to "knowledge of the measurable", usually referred to as science. The term is sometimes popularly taken to mean "knowledge meant only for certain people" or "knowledge that must be kept hidden", but for most practicing occultists it is simply the study of a deeper spiritual reality that extends beyond pure reason and the physical sciences. The terms esoteric and arcane can have a very similar meaning, and the three terms are often interchangeable.

The Tunguska Explosion

The mysterious aerial explosion occurred near the Tunguska River in Siberia, at about a quarter after seven on the morning of June 30, 1908, which felled an estimated 60 million trees over 2,150 square kilometres. Witnesses observed a huge fireball almost as bright as the Sun plunging across the Siberian sky, terminating in a huge explosion that registered on seismic stations all across Eurasia.

The size of the blast was later estimated to be between 10 and 15 megatons of TNT. The night sky had a strange orange glow as far away as Western Europe. The only proof that something happened was a quiver on a seismograph 1,000 miles away in the city of Irkutusk. Scientists did not come to the sight for another 19 years.

When they finally did come, what they saw was a place of utter devastation. They searched for a crater, a piece of an asteroid or meteorite but found nothing. They were able to find eyewitnesses in neighboring villages though. They recalled that there had been a fireball streaking through the sky, a horrifying noise, and an enormous blast. The parallel fallen trees indicate the direction of the blast wave. The first person to visit Tunguska was Leonid Kulik. When he first saw the vast area of charred trees, he thought that a huge fire had started all at once.

Kulik and his team photographed the area and searched for meteorite fragments but found nothing. Over the next 14 years, he lead four more expeditions to Tunguska, but turned up empty-handed. Kulik died in 1942 as a prisoner of war.

Since then, Russian scientists have gone to Tunguska every summer. One of the most useful things they did was map the entire 850 square mile region of tree fall. This task took them 35 years to do. This map has allowed scientist to calculate that the blast must have been four miles above the Earth with a force of 10 to 20 megatons of TNT. The precise cause of the explosion is still unexplained.

The White River Monster

The White River at Newport, Arkansas, was the scene of several sightings in the 1970s. On July 28, 1971, Cloyce Warren of the White River Lumber Company went fishing with two friends. Mooring their boat just south of the White River bridge, they cast their lines. Suddenly the three men were astounded to see a huge column of water belching skyward from a point about 200 feet away. "I didn't know what was happening," Warren later told reporters:

This giant form rose to the surface and began moving in the middle of the river, away from the boat. It was very long and gray colored. We had taken a little Polaroid Swinger camera with us to take pictures of the fish we caught.

I grabbed the camera and managed to get a picture right before it submerged. It appeared to have a spiny backbone that stretched for 30 or more feet. It was hard to make out exactly what the front portion looked like, but it was awful large.

The Newport Daily Independent published the picture two days later. The White River Monster, seen in the distance, was slightly blurred around the edges but appeared to be a large creature as yet unidentified.

The Owlman

In the 1970's a silvery feathered birdman was observed by people in the Mawnan in Cornwall, England. The birdman was said to have pincers as feet, reddish eyes and a large mouth.

Two sisters watched it fly over a church in 1976. In July of the same year there were more sightings of the creature both on the ground and in the sky.

In June through August of 1978 there were additional sightings in the area of the church in Mawnan.

Toothpick City Took 34 Years to Build

A California man has spent the last 34 years building a model of San Francisco out of toothpicks.Scott Weaver, 49, has used more than a million tiny sticks to construct the city and its many landmarks, including the Golden Gate Bridge and Fisherman's Wharf.

Embedded video from CNN Video

"Rolling Through the Bay" also features entry points where ping-pong balls can be inserted to run along tracks. The sculpture is 9 feet tall and 7 feet wide, the San Francisco Chronicle reported.

He started building the toothpick structure at age 17 and 3000 hours and over 30 years later he finished his brilliant creation. It stands 9 feet tall and 7 feet wide. Weaver says he did it to show what could be done by creativity and hard work.

Illusions

Let us see some of the images that depict illusions. Closely take a look at these images and you can feel the mystery behind these images.

Blind Spot

Each of eyes contains an area that has no photoreceptors because it is occupied by the optic nerve. This area is known blind spot. These areas are on opposite sides of visual field. Following exercise is isolate the blind spot.

Instructions:

Cover/close your left eye and look at the black cross (on the left). Move slowly towards the screen. The black dot disappears!

Cover/close your right eye and look at the black dot (on the right). Move slowly towards the screen. The black cross disappears!

Listen:

Follow the movement of the pink dot for few complete rotations and then
look at the black cross in the middle. You will notice a green dot that will
erase all pink dots from the image.

After images

Look at this woman for about one minute then look at the empty screen. Well I hope you can feel the picture of a beautiful women.

The Giant Corpse Flower

The Giant Corpse Flower can reach heights of 6 feet with the largest ones recorded at 9 feet (that’s the flower). The plant part of this flower actually reaches heights of 20 feet.

The Corpse Flower is also unique because its extra large flower produces a wicked smell equal to rotting eggs or a dead animal (thus the name…Corpse Flower).

The Corpse Flower is native to Sumatra, an island in the Indonesia. It thrives at the edges of rainforest near open grassland. This flower grows well under a thin canopy to get both the benefits of the rainforest as well as sunlight. Also, there is enough space for the plant portion to grow 20 feet high, 15 feet across, and 170 pounds in weight.

For all its grandeur, the actual flower only stays for 2 days on average and then disappears for another 1-3 years.

The Mystery behind Mona Lisa painting

Lisa is a painting with many questions. It's the smirky little smile. What is it that it's attracting people? Mona Lisa is just a weird, questionable painting. I don't know what Da Vinci was thinking when painting that smile -- and not a pretty one.

The painting itself is mysterious in which I'm curious about. What is the sense of looking for a mystery of such painting? Why is the Mona Lisa smile super important? Who decided for it to be so mysterious? Is the Mona Lisa smile mystery a technique for the French so that they can get the money from a lot of people so that their economy continues to grow?

Mona Lisa is from the greek god and goddess amun and lisa. The painting symbolizes their union. Amon was mixed around to spell Mona. I read that the Mona Lisa was a self portrait of Leonardo Da Vinci.

Zodiac Killer

The Zodiac Killer was a serial killer who operated in Northern California in the late 1960s. The Zodiac killer's identity remains unknown. The Zodiac killer coined the name "Zodiac" in a series of taunting letters sent to the local Bay Area press.

These letters included four cryptograms (or ciphers), three of which have yet to be solved. The Zodiac murdered victims in Benicia, Vallejo, Lake Berryessa, and San Francisco between December 1968 and October 1969.

Four men and three women, between the ages of 16 and 29, were targeted. Numerous suspects have been named by law enforcement and amateur investigators, but no conclusive evidence has surfaced.

The Fake Blood

American scientists have developed 'artificial' blood that could soon be used to treat wounded soldiers in battle. The genetically-engineered blood is created by taking cells from umbilical cords and using a machine to mimic the way bone marrow works to produce mass quantities of usable units of red blood cells.

Known as 'blood pharming' the programme was launched in 2008 by the Pentagon's experimental arm, Darpa, to create blood to treat soldiers in far-flung battlefields. The firm Arteriocyte, which received $1.95 million for the project, has now sent off its first shipment of O-negative blood to the food and drugs watchdog in the US, the FDA.

The blood is made by using hematopoietic cells taken from umbilical cords in a process called ‘pharming’ – using genetically engineered plants or animals to create mass quantities of useful substances.

The Black holes

A black hole, according to the general theory of relativity, is a region of space from which nothing, including light, can escape. It is the result of the deformation of spacetime caused by a very compact mass.

Around a black hole there is an undetectable surface which marks the point of no return, called an event horizon. It is called "black" because it absorbs all the light that hits it, reflecting nothing, just like a perfect black body in thermodynamics.

Under the theory of quantum mechanics, black holes possess a temperature and emit Hawking radiation, but for black holes of stellar mass or larger this temperature is much lower than that of the cosmic background radiation.

A Link between Egypt and Americas?

According to the official view there was no contact between the Old World and the New World before Columbus. Yet numerous similarities have been found that suggest a link between Egypt and the Americas:
  • · Both have huge pyramids, aligned to the cardinal points
  • · Both have structures built with megalithic stones and extremely fine joints
  • · Both exhibit intriguing bumps on many unfinished stone blocks
  • · Both employed a unique style of construction using "L" shaped corners
  • · Both use the same style of metal clamps to hold the huge stones in place
  • · Both used the process of mummification to preserve and honor their dead
These compelling similarities suggest that both ancient cultures were influenced by a sophisticated common source.

Nazca Lines

Nazca Lines are the most outstanding group of geoglyphs in the world, they are located in the Nazca Desert, between the towns of Nazca and Palpa on the Pampas de Jumana in Peru. Etched in the surface of the desert pampa sand about 300 hundred figures made of straight lines, geometric shapes and pictures of animals and birds - and their patterns are only clearly visible from the air.

There are 3 mysterious aspects to Nazca Plateau:

  • First, the straight lines, many kilometers long, crisscross sectors of the pampas in all directions.
  • Second, many of the lines form geometric figures: angles, triangles, bunches, spirals, rectangles, wavy lines, etc.
  • Third, many lines form animal patterns.

Nazca Lines Map Extract:
It is believed that the geoglyphs were built by a people called the Nasca- but why and how they created these wonders of the world has defied explanation. Since the Nazca lines cannot be recognized as coherent figures except from the air, it is presumed the Nazca people could never have seen their work from this vantage point, there has been much speculation on the builders' abilities and motivations.

Dark matter building up inside Sun??

The sun could be a net for dark matter, a new study suggests. If dark matter happens to take a certain specific form, it could build up in our nearest star and alter how heat moves inside it in a way that would be observable from Earth.

Dark matter is the mysterious stuff that makes up about 83 percent of the matter in the universe, but doesn’t interact with electromagnetic forces. Although the universe contains five times as much dark matter as normal matter, dark matter is completely invisible both to human eyes and every kind of telescope ever devised. Physicists only know it’s there because of its gravitational effect on normal matter. Dark matter keeps galaxies spinning quickly without flying apart and is responsible for much of the large-scale structure in the universe.

Current dark matter detectors are looking for WIMPs, or weakly interacting massive particles, that connect only with the weak nuclear force and gravity. Based on the most widely accepted theories, most experiments are tuned to look for a particle that is about 100 times more massive than a proton. The chief suspect is also its own antiparticle: Whenever a WIMP meets another WIMP, they annihilate each other.

Scariest Predictions for Our Planet

THE EARTH WOBBLES as it rotates on its axis. At least it used to. As of January 8, 2006, the wobbling has stopped, according to earth changes researcher Michael Mandeville. What will the effects be? No one knows. May be nothing. But this startling anomaly reminds us of some of the radical geophysical changes that have been predicted for our beautiful little planet by prophets, prognosticators and even a few scientists. They’re not very pleasant, and I’ll leave it up to you how seriously you want to take them.

It has long been known that the Earth’s magnetic pole is not stationary – it wanders around. It also reverses. Scientific research has shown that the magnetic poles switch places every few hundred thousands of years. More radical thinkers, however, say that the Earth’s physical poles have shifted significantly in the past – and will so again.

They contend that the planet’s crust floats on the liquid magma beneath, like the loose skin on an orange, and can slip position. In a pole shift, Antarctica, for example, could be on the new equator and the Amazon frozen on the new South Pole. Prophets Edgar Cayce and Ruth Montgomery foresaw such a pole shift. And this change can happen, according to Professor, Charles H. Hapgood, not over hundreds of thousands of years, but within days! The effects, as you can imagine, would be catastrophic for human civilization.

Mysterious Pyramids

From all buildings of the world pyramids seem to be the most mystical. "Pyramid" and "secret", typed into any search engine, gives thousands of results without any problem, and the number of books, articles, films and games with "pyramid" in the title is not countable. But what IS the mystery of the pyramids?

Many authors say it's the fact, that almost any culture around the world had built them. In the 19th century, before the invention of scientific dating methods, it was thought therefore, that this was a sign of a seed culture which brought the style around the world. The idea of Atlantis was near. This idea of hyper-diffusionism (that each and every ancient invention spread from one point of origin) is lon dead in academic circles, because after introduction of dating methods it was clear, that the time span between the oldest and the youngest pyramid building culture was too large (almost 3000 years), and that building style and function of those pyramids were far to different for coming from one source.

But the Egyptian pyramids alone have enough mysteries to fill libraries with books about them. And the most mysterious pyramids are of course those at Giza, a suburb of the metropolis Cairo. And every year new books about those "mysteries" are added. Even serious books are riding on the mystery-train, so is the German title of Mark Lehners "The complete pyramids" "The Secret of the pyramids" - sounds a bit like Mendelssohns Riddle of the Pyramids.

Crop cirlces

A crop circle is a sizable pattern created by the flattening of a crop such as wheat, barley, rye, maize, or rapeseed.

In 1991, self-professed pranksters Doug Bower and Dave Chorley stated that they had started the phenomenon in 1978 by making actual circles on crops with the use of simple tools. However, crop patterns did not only persist but became astonishingly complex. Some even came to resemble stereotypical extraterrestrials as portrayed by science fiction movies, fractals and archaeological, religious or mythological symbols, thus leading to speculation and passionate debate. Among others, paranormal enthusiasts, ufologists and anomalistic investigators have offered arousing yet hypothetical explanations that have been criticized as pseudoscientific by skeptical groups like the Committee for Skeptical Inquiry.

Most of the observed patterns have revealed as products of deception, artistic expression and business or tourist interests. Some cases have been examined by a few researches via the scientific method.

vampires are they real??

Vampires are mythological or folkloric beings that subsist on human and/or animal lifeforce. In most cases, they are reanimated corpses who feed by draining and consuming the blood of living beings. In folklore, the term usually refers to the blood-drinking humans of Eastern European legends, but the term is often applied to similar legendary creatures from other regions and cultures.

The characteristics of vampires vary widely among these different traditions. Some cultures also have stories of non-human vampires, including real animals such as bats, dogs, spiders, and mythical creatures such as the chupacabra. Vampires are a frequent subject of fictional books and films, although fictional vampires are often attributed traits distinct from those of folkloric vampires.

In March 2007, self-proclaimed vampire hunters broke into the tomb of Slobodan Milosevic, former president of Serbia and Yugoslavia, and staked his body through the heart into the ground. Although the group involved claimed this act was to prevent Milosevic from returning as a vampire, it is not known whether those involved actually believed this could happen or if the crime was simply politically motivated.

The Myrtles Plantation

Built in 1796 by General David Bradford, this stately old home on Myrtles Plantation is said to be haunted by several restless ghosts. Some researchers say as many as ten murders have been committed there, but others, such as Troy Taylor and David Wisehart, have only been able to confirm one murder at Myrtles. (Those two authors provide a very good history of the house in their article, The Legends, Lore & Lies of The Myrtles Plantation).

Even they agree, however, that the place is seriously haunted and easily qualifies as one of the "most haunted." These are some of the ghosts that allegedly haunt the house:

* Cleo – a former slave who was allegedly hung on the premises for killing two little girls. (Those murders and even the existence of Cleo are in question.)
* The ghosts of the two murdered children have been seen playing on the veranda.
* William Drew Winter – an attorney who lived at Myrtles from 1860 to 1871. He was shot on the side porch of the house by a stranger. With his life's blood pouring from his body, Winter staggered into the house and began to climb the stairs to the second floor... but didn't make it. He collapsed and died on the 17th step. It is his last dying footsteps that can still be heard on the staircase to this day. (Winter's murder is the only one that has been verified.)
* The ghosts of other slaves allegedly occasionally show up to ask if they can do any chores.
* The grand piano has often been heard to play by itself, repeating one haunting chord.

UFOs sightings

UFO is an acronym for Unidentified Flying Object. Such objects include meteors, disintegrating satellites, flocks of birds, aircraft, lights, weather balloons, and just about anything moving within the visible band of electromagnetism. In common language UFO has been often a synonym for an alien spacecraft.

There are many photographs of UFOs and they are of equal quality: blurs and forgeries. Other physical evidence, such as alleged debris from alien crashes, or burn marks on the ground from alien landings, or implants in bodies of alien abductees, have turned out to be quite terrestrial, including forgeries.

UFOlogy is the mythology of the space age. Rather than angels...we now have...extraterrestrials. It seeks to give man deeper roots and bearings in the universe. It is an expression of our hunger for mystery...our hope for transcendental meaning. The ancient gods have been transformed into space voyagers.

The mystery of Easter Island

One of the world's most famous yet least visited archaeological sites, Easter Island is a small, hilly, now treeless island of volcanic origin. Located in the Pacific Ocean at 27 degrees south of the equator and some 2200 miles (3600 kilometers) off the coast of Chile, it is considered to be the world's most remote inhabited island.

That culture's most famous features are its enormous stone statues called moai, at least 288 of which once stood upon massive stone platforms called ahu. There are some 250 of these ahu platforms spaced approximately one half mile apart and creating an almost unbroken line around the perimeter of the island.

Another 600 moai statues, in various stages of completion, are scattered around the island, either in quarries or along ancient roads between the quarries and the coastal areas where the statues were most often erected. Scholars are unable to definitively explain the function and use of the moai statues. It is assumed that their carving and erection derived from an idea rooted in similar practices found elsewhere in Polynesia but which evolved in a unique way on Easter Island.

Huge Lake in Chile Disappears Overnight

All of the water and its contents were gone. Despite the fact this strange incident took place more than two years ago, word is just now getting out about it. As word is finally starting to spread across the internet, UFO enthusiasts and paranomalists are putting forth theories as to how something like this could have happened.

This wasn’t a small lake or pond, either---it was approximately five miles long! Located in Patagonia, Chile, the last time geologists saw it was in March 2007 and nothing appeared strange or different about it at all. What could have happened within just two short months? How could a giant lake disappear out of nowhere? In addition to the lake simply vanishing, a river that flowed from the lake was reduced to a very small stream.

When this story first broke, many people thought it was just a hoax, and indeed it does seem too bizarre to be true. It is true, however, despite how baffling it is. Apparently the icebergs were still left behind---intact, despite the fact that the water was gone. Geologists also report huge cracks at the bottom of the pit. Did the water somehow drain through the cracks? Was there some sort of earthquake? Why then were the icebergs fine?

One glacier specialist, Andres Rivera, explained to a Chilean newspaper that the lake itself did not even exist three decades ago. So, is it possible that the landscape in that part of the world is reforming itself? Geologists and glacier specialists are currently doing tests to see what they can find out about the bizarre landscape in that area.

Shroud of Turin

The Shroud of Turin (or Turin Shroud) is a linen cloth bearing the image of a man who appears to have suffered physical trauma in a manner consistent with crucifixion. It is kept in the royal chapel of the Cathedral of Saint John the Baptist in Turin, northern Italy.

The origins of the shroud and its image are the subject of intense debate among scientists, theologians, historians and researchers. Some contend that the shroud is the cloth placed on the body of Jesus Christ at the time of his burial, and that the face image is the Holy Face of Jesus. Others contend that the artifact was created in the Middle Ages. The Catholic Church has neither formally endorsed nor rejected the shroud, but in 1958 Pope Pius XII approved of the image in association with the Roman Catholic devotion to the Holy Face of Jesus.

The image on the shroud is much clearer in black-and-white negative than in its natural sepia color. The negative image was first observed on the evening of May 28, 1898, on the reverse photographic plate of amateur photographer Secondo Pia, who was allowed to photograph it while it was being exhibited in the Turin Cathedral. In 1978 a detailed examination was carried out by a team of American scientists called STURP. It found no reliable evidences of forgery, and called the question of how the image was formed "a mystery".

Bermuda Triangle Mystery

The Bermuda Triangle, also known as the Devil's Triangle, is a region in the western part of the North Atlantic Ocean where a number of aircraft and surface vessels allegedly disappeared mysteriously. Popular culture has attributed these disappearances to the paranormal or activity by extraterrestrial beings. Documented evidence indicates that a significant percentage of the incidents were inaccurately reported or embellished by later authors, and numerous official agencies have stated that the number and nature of disappearances in the region is similar to that in any other area of ocean.

Triangle writers have used a number of supernatural concepts to explain the events. One explanation pins the blame on leftover technology from the mythical lost continent of Atlantis. Sometimes connected to the Atlantis story is the submerged rock formation known as the Bimini Road off the island of Bimini in the Bahamas, which is in the Triangle by some definitions. Followers of the purported psychic Edgar Cayce take his prediction that evidence of Atlantis would be found in 1968 as referring to the discovery of the Bimini Road. Believers describe the formation as a road, wall, or other structure, though geologists consider it to be of natural origin.

Other writers attribute the events to UFOs. This idea was used by Steven Spielberg for his science fiction film Close Encounters of the Third Kind, which features the lost Flight 19 aircrews as alien abductees.

Charles Berlitz, author of various books on anomalous phenomena, lists several theories attributing the losses in the Triangle to anomalous or unexplained forces.

3 Unanswered Questions About Our Moon

Scientists at a meeting of the International Lunar Exploration Working Group argue that it doesn't mater that humans have "been there"—there is plenty we still don't know about our moon. Here are some areas that bear examination.

The Origin
We still don't know for sure where the moon comes from. The idea that the residue of a massive impact of planetary bodies spun off the moon has gone from fringe to mainstream. Geology is the key to studying the past, and so far only one geologist has ever been on the moon. However, studying "the structure and composition of crust, mantle and core" will have implications for its origin—and the earliest history of Earth, the working group determined. Such research requires landing on the surface by human or robotic geologists.

The Dark Side
Even taking into account recent satellite missions, most of the best lunar data comes from Apollo crews and Russian Luna landers. These efforts focused on the near side of the moon, for obvious logistical reasons. But those small patches are not representative of the rest of the planet. The international working group in China says that "ground truth information on the lunar far side is missing and needed to address many important scientific questions." They recommend a sample return from South Pole-Aitken Basin, the deepest impact crater in the solar system, and the oldest on the moon. Every crater is a window into the past, but this one's chemistry and geology could hold answers to some lingering mysteries. Was the impact that caused it fast or slow moving? Why is the chemistry of the impact basin so different from the highlands?

The Water
The working group questions the "nature and origin of volatile emplacement and implications for resource utilization." That is a long way to go to make something exciting seem very dull. What they mean is water—how it got there and how much is available for human use. That means moon bases, permanent settlements off of earth—and we have not been there, nor done that. Recent findings from NASA and Indian missions are showing that there is likely more water in and on the moon than anyone ever suspected. But the most eye-catching study, released this week by scientists at the Carnegie Institution's Geophysical Laboratory, found that the water content has been undercounted by a factor of about 100. Where did this data come from? Analyzing a rock that Apollo 11 astronauts brought back in 1969 held the key. If robots or astronauts pluck more rocks from more areas and return them to Earth for study, who knows what other mind-bending breakthroughs could be revealed. We need to set spacecraft on the surface to solve these riddles.

Mars - with Evidence of Life and Past Civilizations

What's up with Mars? Mars the mysterious. Mars the enigmatic. Since ancient man began tracking the unique red world across the night sky, we have always known there is something special about Mars. The invention of the telescope brought it in to clearer view, and for the first time we could distinguish intriguing markings on the planet's surface that Italian astronomer Giovanni Virginio Schiaparelli in 1877 called canali.

American astronomer Percival Lowell, publicized by the popular media of the time, literally (and mistakenly) interpreted Schiaparelli's term with the idea that there were artificial canals on Mars - and the notion that Mars was inhabited by intelligent life became more widespread.

In the decades that followed, science fiction stories and motion pictures explored the fantasy of Mars life, while science produced more powerful telescopes and rocket-propelled probes that revealed an equally awesome reality: a planet of gigantic canyons, dust storms and massive volcanoes that dwarf their Earthly counterparts.

Marian Apparitions

Do miracles take place? Are angels real? Does prayer work? These are some of the phenomena for which science tries to find rational explanations, and for the faithful no explanations are necessary. But the ten mysteries examined below are of continuing interest to many people, if only out of curiosity, and are subjects of genuine inquiry by paranormal investigators. In no particular order, here are the top ten religious mysteries and miracles.

For centuries, visions of Mary, the mother of Jesus, have been reported around the world. Notable apparitions include: Guadalupe, Mexico (1531); Fatima, Portugal (1917); Lourdes, France (1858); Gietrzwald, Poland (1877); among others. Claims of apparitions continue to this very day, the most well known being at Medjugorje, Croatia.

In 1968, a Marian apparition was even allegedly televised live in Zeitoun, Egypt. In these visions, Mary usually asks people to pray and occasionally makes prophecies, the most famous being those at Fatima. Skeptics regard these visions as hallucinations or mass hysteria, while other researchers looking for explanations for these events have even made comparisons of the apparitions to UFO encounters.

Existence of Impossible fossils

Fossils, as we learned in grade school, appear in rocks that were formed many thousands of years ago. Yet there are a number of fossils that just don't make geological or historical sense.

A fossil of a human handprint, for example, was found in limestone estimated to be 110 million years old. What appears to be a fossilized human finger found in the Canadian Arctic also dates back 100 to 110 million years ago.

And what appears to be the fossil of a human footprint, possibly wearing a sandal, was found near Delta, Utah in a shale deposit estimated to be 300 million to 600 million years old.

Angel Hair - a rare phenomenon

Angel Hair is a rare phenomenon that has so far defied explanation. It is made up of silken threads that rain down on to the earth, but reach out to touch it and it will almost certainly vanish before your eyes.

It is a world wide phenomenon with the most regular occurrences from North America, New Zealand, Australia, and Western Europe. There is no known proof for what causes this substance, or even what it is made up of.

Speculations are that it has come from Spiders or another type of silk-spinning insect, and even UFO’s as it has often been associated with UFO sightings. Because of its sensitive nature, it has been difficult to collect, and to analyse as it is subject to contamination from car exhaust fumes, and even human contact, which could skew the chemical results.

Mystery Holes In Russia

This is happening in some Russian forests, people are finding these deep holes in dense forests & places where its not possible for trucks or any other instrument or device that could be used to drill them.

"They appear in the dense forest, in the places you can't get on the car or truck to bring any device to drill the ground. There is no any soil that should be taken from such deep holes is found.

There are no any reasonable ideas on how these holes appear and what they are being used for.
The theory is that these holes were formed by larva burning away the trees and leaving behind ashes which were eroded away. This theory is problematic.

These holes appear in remote forests where its very hard to bring in equipment to dig them.

Australian Yowie Research on Bigfoot

Bigfoot, also known as Sasquatch, is purportedly an ape-like creature that inhabits forests, mainly in the Pacific Northwest region of North America. Most scientists discount the existence of Bigfoot and consider it to be a combination of folklore, misidentification, and hoax, rather than a legitimate megafaunal animal

A Real report on Bigfoot at Australia:

A Sungai Liang resident has discovered several strange footprints along the Andulau forest area in Labi, which according to him do not resemble human or animal footprints. Liew Kim San, 34, a permanent resident, said the footprints could be of an unknown wildlife while most of his Than friends speculated that it could be that of a forest genie, which they believe could be the reason why people normally get lost in the Labi forest area. Lim, who frequents the forests to look for birds, called the Borneo Bulletin to narrate the unusual sighting.

Lim, a freelance electrical contractor, said he was in Andulau forest area last Friday to take photographs of maintenance works to cut branches of trees that could pose a hazard to the light tension wires going across the forest. However, before work to trim the trees began, he spotted the unusual footprints along a long patch of sandy area in the forest leading towards the main road, which is a good 15 minutes walk.
Lim, accompanied by four other contract workers, followed the footprints and took photos of them. He said the footprints do not belong to a human, as they looked much wider in size.

When the Bulletin approached some people for their opinion, some speculated that it could be the footprints of an orang utan or some animals while some said it could be a ‘supernatural’ phenomenon.
Malaysia was gripped by the sighting of the Bigfoot in November 2005 in the jungles of Johor when three fishery workers claimed to have seen a Bigfoot family that left footprints up to 45cm long.

Speculations were so intense that the Johor Wildlife Department directed officials to install cameras in strategic areas to capture the Bigfoot on camera. Bigfoot was popularised in the US after a string of sightings years ago. Even though similar sighting have been reported from many parts of the world, their existence has never been confirmed, according to reports.
