In Africa, there is place called Kolmanskop few distance from the port of Lüderitz and this place is called a “Ghost town”. Century ago, Lüderitz was flooded people to this desert as there was this diamond fever and the town was well established with schools, casino, hospitals and so on within a year or so. After First World War there was steady decline in diamond sales and along with that people started deserting the town mysteriously. The houses and the buildings are now covered with sand and gives overall eerie look.

The lost city of Incas

Machu Picchu- is considered one of the mysterious places around the world. It is located on a mountain ridge above the Urubamba Valley in Peru. The place was rediscovered by Yale archaeologist Hiram Bingham in the year 1911 and was considered an ancient beautiful site in the world. Machu Picchu was built around 1400 AD and considered pre-Columbian Inca. The area flourished for 100 years but the place was deserted following the Spanish conquest of the Inca Empire in Peru. There are many theories relating to Inca site and it was assumed to be a birthplace of the Incan “Virgins of the Suns” and a belonged to the Incan Emperor Pachacuti. It also gained Hollywood attention as one or two movies are filmed based on Incan site and culture. Whatever it maybe, Incan Culture and abandoned city still remains a mystery.

In the year 1971, Maria Perira who belonged to a small Spanish village of Belmez said that she witnesses mysterious faces emerging from her cement kitchen floor. Due to this Maria Perira removed her old flooring and replaced it with new cement floors but even after that those strange faces start appearing. This bizarre happenings attracted many visitors as they found it interesting and strange.

Not only that, Marie Perira claimed that these faces were not same every time. Sometimes they might observe a female face, sometimes male face and likewise face used to change every time. When they did background check on that place, it was discovered that the place in which the house is build was once a graveyard maintained by Christians, Muslims and Romans. “The Door to Hell”

“The Door to Hell” is a place near a small town called Darvaz at Uzbekistan. It’s been said that before 35 years, geologists tried drilling this place for gas and unexpectedly while drilling they discovered an underground cave. This underground cave was so huge, that it swallowed all the drilling site equipments as it was very deep. After that incident, no one was willing to go down that cavern. So, they set fire to that cave so no poisonous gas escaped from that hole. Ever since, it is burning for 35 years without any break. People are wondering how many tons of excellent gas has been trapped inside that cave so that it burns still now. It remains still a mystery.

In the year 1975, Elizabeth Kendall claimed to the investigators that she had information about a serial killer named ‘Ted’ as he was her lover.
Elizabeth Kendall had previously approached the King County, Seattle police to narrate her doubts concerning her boyfriend. She felt that there is a very good chance that her lover was the villainous "Ted" Killer, who was considered, had been behind several of murders and vanishings of young women in the Washington state area. When Ted went for Utah from Seattle, the mysterious series of deaths/disappearances had stopped, only to initiate in Salt Lake City shortly after Bundy arrived in town.
Elizabeth was clearly frightened and disturbed by the chance that her boyfriend may be a traveling serial killer; she agreed to provide the investigators with all the needed information about Ted. She explained that he would regularly sleep during the day and depart the apartment after dusk fell. He would have disappeared for long hours and would seldom be ready to share with her, she never knew about his whereabouts. She also observed that his interest in sex with her wane had declined during the last year. He was interested in bondage practices and how he had strangled her one time whilst she was tied to the bed. Bundy had apparently slipped into an unsettling spell-like state during that incident. Elizabeth after that did not permit him to tie her up again.
Elizabeth confided that he had a hatchet under his car-seat and also had a sack of female underwear in his room. Ted lived a dual life and had disguises. Elizabeth was very disturbed to find a plaster of paris kit in his bathroom cabinet. This is to confirm that “Ted” had been wearing a cast on his arm when he approached two women on 14 July at Lake Sammamish Park in Seattle. Janice Ott and Denise Naslund last seen in the company of the mysterious “Ted”, who were later reported missing.
Ted Bundy’s victims were Lynda Ann Healy(21),Donna Gail Manson(19),Susan Elaine Rancourt(18),Robert Kathleen(22),Brenda carol Ball(22),Georgeann Hawkins(18),Janice Ann Ott(23),Denise Marie Naslund(19),Unknown teenage hitchhiker, Nancy Wilcox(16),Melissa Anne Smith(17),Laura Aime(17),Carol DaRonch,Debra Kent(17),Caryn Campbell(23), Julie Cunningham(26),Denise Oliverson(25),Lynette Culver(13),Susan Curtis(15),Lisa Levy(20),Cheryl Thomas and Kimberly Leach(12). His victims were raped and were murdered brutally.

On January 24, 1989, 42-year-old Ted Bundy was executed by electrocution for the murder of Kimberly Leach – twelve year old girl. These were his last words "I'd like you to give my love to my family and friends." More than 2,000 volts were sent through his body for less than two minutes before he died and this was considered the highest punishment.

Mystery behind missing capstone – the Great Pyramid

While observing the Great Pyramid, you’ll observe its apex missing. It top won’t be pointed as it should be. The top part or capstone was the last thing to be placed while constructing the pyramid and also considered the most significant part of the pyramid. Usually the capstone will be highly decorated. The mystery is- Was the great pyramid always without a capstone or was it destroyed or stolen. The number of visitors who visited the pyramid from the ancient past even before Jesus Christ always reported that the pyramid was without the capstone. Maybe it is possible to think that that it was never finished. Looking at other possibility is that capstones might be made of gold and maybe looted. But the problem is that the capstone is usually very large in size. Thus, this capstone would have been huge and weighed a tremendous amount. On the peak you would observe something that looks flagstaff and this was actually placed there by two astronomers in 1874 to show where the Pyramid’s actual peak would have been if finished. No one is able to clarify why the Great Pyramid is built without a capstone.

Capstone

There is a fascinating story related with a visit to the top of the great pyramid. Tourists have climbed the peak as it is not so tough. Same way Sir Siemen’s, a British inventor, climbed to the top with some Arab guides. One of his guides explained the truth that he would hear an acute ringing noise, when he raised his hand with outspread fingers. Siemen tried the same trick by raising his index finger and felt a distinct prickling sensation. When he tried to drinking a bottle of wine, he felt an electric shock. As he was a scientist, Siemen dampened a newspaper and wrapped it around the wine bottle to convert it into a Leyden jar (an early form of a capacitor).Leyden jar became charged with electricity, when he held it above his head. The bottle started emitting Sparks. Frightened Arab guide assumed Siemen was up to some witchcraft and attempted to grab Siemen’s Leyden jar. When Siemen’s detected this, he pointed the bottle towards the Arab and gave him a shock that it blew the Arab to the ground rendering him unconscious. Recovered Arab took off down the pyramid shouting wildly. The peak of the Great Pyramid could create such an electo-static effect. I suggest many interesting experiments should be conducted on the top of the Great pyramid.

Mermaid Mystery

Existence of mermaid is a mystery even today. A mermaid is referred as fish woman and a mythological aquatic creature with a female human head and the tail of a fish. Mermaids are represented in many culture, folklore and literature. A strange series of Mermaid sightings off the West coast of Scotland in 1814 kindled the existence of mermaid. However, Scientists generally agree 'mermaid' form is biologically impossible and indicating that the legend of the Mermaid is most likely a legend.

The little mermaid is a cartoon depiction of a beautiful mermaid falling in love with the Prince. The Beginning mermaid stories appeared in Assyria, 1000 BC. It is been told that goddess Atargatis, mother of Assyrian queen Semiramis, loved a mortal shepherd and unintentionally killed him. She jumped into a lake to take the form of a fish as she was ashamed, but the waters could not conceal her divine beauty. Therefore, she took the form of a mermaid (human above the waist, fish below) though the earliest representations of Atargatis showed her as a fish with a human head and legs. Some say the lost kingdom of Atlantis had some survivors and they adapted themselves under the water as mermaid and merman.

Some Claimed sightings of dead/living mermaids have come from different places. Some fisherman who claims to have seen mermaid, describes mermaid to be “It is about six to seven feet in length, has a little black head, with neck, a snow white body and two arms, and in swimming it just appears like a human being. At times it will appear to be siding on a sunken rock, and will wave and work its hands." There were two Canadian reports from the area of Vancouver and Victoria, one from sometime between 1870 and 1890, the other from 1967. The town of Kiryat Yam in Israel offered a reward of Dollar1 million for anyone who could prove the existence of a mermaid off its coast, after dozens of people reported seeing a mermaid leaping out of the water like a dolphin and doing aerial tricks before returning to the depths. The existence of Mermaids still holds a mystery and a mystery yet to be solved.

Triple suns over China

An astronomical phenomenon that appears to show three suns appears above Changchun, the capital city of Jilin Province in northeast China. The smaller twins were about one-tenth of the size of the sun. Together with the bright light, they formed a round, rainbow-like aura around the sun. Experts said that such a phenomenon is called "phantom sun", which is an optical refraction in the atmosphere.

In winter, the clouds are formed by ice crystals and they are relatively higher in the sky than in summer. When they happen to form a particular shape, they can reflect the sunshine in such a way that produces the astronomical phenomenon of "triple suns".

The Sugar Conspiracy: Is Refined Sugar a Drug?

Refined sugar, by some, is called a drug, because in the refining process everything of food value has been removed except the carbohydrates-pure calories, without vitamins, minerals, proteins, fats, enzymes or any of the other elements that make up food. Many nutrition experts say that white sugar is extremely harmful, possibly as harmful as a drug, especially in the quantities consumed by the present-day American.

…Dr. David Reuben, author of Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Nutrition says, “…white refined sugar-is not a food. It is a pure chemical extracted from plant sources, purer in fact than cocaine, which it resembles in many ways. Its true name is sucrose and its chemical formula is C12H22O11.

It has 12 carbon atoms, 22 hydrogen atoms, 11 oxygen atoms, and absolutely nothing else to offer.” …The chemical formula for cocaine is C17H21NO4. Sugar’s formula again is C12H22O11. For all practical purposes, the difference is that sugar is missing the “N”, or nitrogen atom. …Refining means to make “pure” by a process of extraction or separation. Sugars are refined by taking a natural food, which contains a high percentage of sugar, and then removing all elements of that food until only the sugar remains. …While sugar is commonly made from sugar cane or sugar beets.

Through heating and mechanical and chemical processing, all vitamins, minerals, proteins, fats, enzymes and indeed every nutrient is removed until only the sugar remains. Sugar cane and sugar beets are first harvested and then chopped into small pieces, squeezing out the juice, which is then mixed with water. This liquid is then heated, and lime is added.

Moisture is boiled away, and the remaining fluid is pumped into vacuum pans to concentrate the juice. By this time, the liquid is starting to crystallize, and is ready to be placed into a centrifuge machine where any remaining residues (like molasses) are spun away. The crystals are then dissolved by heating to the boiling point and passed through charcoal filters.

After the crystals condense, they are bleached snow-white usually by the use of pork or cattle bones. …During the refining process, 64 food elements are destroyed. All the potassium, magnesium, calcium, iron, manganese, phosphate, and sulfate are removed. The A, D, and B, vitamins are destroyed.

Amino acids, vital enzymes, unsaturated fats, and all fiber are gone. To a lesser or greater degree, all refined sweeteners such as corn syrup, maple syrup, etc., undergo similar destructive processes. Molasses is the chemical and deranged nutrients that is a byproduct of sugar manufacture.

…Sugar manufacturers are aggressive in defending their product and have a strong political lobby which allows them to continue selling a deadly food item that by all reason should not be allowed in the American diet.

…If you have any doubts as to the detriments of sugar (sucrose), try leaving it out of your diet for several weeks and see if it makes a difference! You may also notice you have acquired an addiction and experience some withdrawal symptoms.

…Studies show that “sugar” is just as habit-forming as any narcotic; and its use, misuse, and abuse is our nation’s number one disaster.

It is no wonder when we consider all the products we consume daily which are loaded with sugar! The average healthy digestive system can digest and eliminate from two to four teaspoons of sugar daily, usually without noticeable problems, (that is if damage is not already present).

Intuition

Ever learned something without really understanding how you know it? That’s intuition. Sometimes called a sixth sense or gut feelings, intuition is the ability to acquire knowledge without a clear source or without reasoning it.

Some people claim that they get a feeling that someone is watching them, and they look around and find that somebody is, or was, watching them. Or a police officer may look at some suspects for a crime and somehow know which one is guilty, and later discover they were right.

Though some people say that these things are all coincidences, others believe that the human brain has a special ability to get knowledge around them without conscious realization. It is another mystery of the human mind
